Development of a product for interactive voting at live events. Launch winter 2013.

DirectPoll enables interactive live polls. Viewers can vote directly with their smart device without installing an app. The Poll is set up and controlled via a web interface, again without any app.

Leading the development of the user interface in a team with two interaction designers. Conducting user evaluations in Zurich. Project management in the development phase (Basis: GO, WebSockets). Development of a business plan in two iterations.

To make it easier to communicate the features, we developed a product video that is at the center of the homepage.

Cockpit

Create, start and edit a poll at any time – even at runtime.

All key functions (create questions, links for participants, result display and color selection) are centrally accessible.

The poll is controlled using the “mini cockpit” at the top. The functions are shown or hidden based on their status.

Polls can be extended using the admin interface. The number of permitted participants can be adjusted manually.

DirectPoll works on almost every mobile device and has been regularly tested with Chrome, FireFox and Safari.

Events

DirectPoll is widely used as a voting tool for BOSA, among other things. Over 16,000 polls were conducted in 2017, which corresponds to a monthly average of around 1,500.
